Tangleweed and Brine by Deirdre Sullivan

‘Tangleweed and Brine’ is a captivating, contemporary collection of fairytales, beautifully told by Deirdre Sullivan. The collection darkly reimagines familiar fairytales, wonderfully re-making them.

I particularly enjoyed 'Meet the Nameless Thing and Call it Friend', 'The Little Gift' and 'Beauty and the Board', but each of these wonderfully dark tales is a delight to read.

My only problem was whether to continue to read late into the night, or save something to savour the next day.

If you're seeking something richly imaginative, with real bite, this is the book for you.
